Dallas – Houston Overtime Lawsuits Filed

A Man individually and for all others similarly situated, filed a lawsuit Sept. 30 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Sprint Energy Services and Sprint Waste Services, alleging unpaid overtime in violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

The complaint states that the man was employed by the defendants as an oilfield service worker. He  worked in excess of 40 hours per week. The worker was paid a flat day rate but, the complaint alleges, was not paid time-and-a-half for time worked more than 40 hours per week.

Native Oilfield Services required truck drivers to be at work early each morning to haul sand to fracking sites in the Eagle Ford and Permian Basin. No trucks would be available and the drivers would wait hours without pay for one to arrive.

In August, a federal jury in Dallas ruled that the Fort Worth-based company violated the Fair Labor Standards Act when it refused to pay 108 truckers millions of dollars in overtime.

Recently  a former project lead filed a lawsuit in the Southern District Court of Texas seeking overtime pay from ConocoPhillips and ConocoPhillips.
